Event Description

GIS Family Fun Day started in 2012 when a group of GIS Professionals realized that except for conferences and GIS meetings they really didn’t get the chance to network with their peers. So this event was started as a way to network, share GIS tips, tricks and woes as well as to catch up with people in the GIS community that you don’t get to see as often as you would like and share good times.

GIS Family Fun Day has also become a great place for spouses and significant others to commiserate over the other side of our profession. Families have shared tails of listening to preparing for weather events, server specs, GPS equipment, geo-WHATEVERING, and the rest.

Whether you are new to the GIS Community come on out and meet some new friends who speak your language or if you are a regular and feel like you have been here for what seems like an eternity come on out to catch up with your old friends.

This day of fun is meant to bring your family and enjoy your fellow MAC URISA members. There will be pizza and water provided by MAC URISA and there are grills available at the facility for your use. However, seating and table space is limited, so you are encouraged to bring your favorite camping chair, beach umbrella and camping table.

This free day of fun will be a pizza picnic, so in addition to your camping furniture and park Geo-friendly games, you will need to bring an item to share with the group such as an appetizer or a dessert. There is a capacity limit at the park and we need to know how much water to bring, so advanced registration is required.
